This then allowed for an uplifting second half to the evening, helped no doubt by the wine and nibbles. Members had been invited to choose a significant image taken by any other photographer, or themselves, which they had found to be an inspiration in their own photographic journey. As each image appeared on screen, the person who had chosen it leapt to their feet for a three minute (or sometimes longer) exposition. We enjoyed a wide range of images from famous and not so famous photographers and very personal stories about when and how they had inspired the person who chose them.
Natalie has returned from Argentina very recently and showed us the Bruce Perry image which had caught her imagination and set her off planning an expedition to explore and photograph in the same remote and exacting region. Several members who were not able to be there last night sent in images and a short resume for Mike to read out and this added to an evening full of surprises and getting to know one another better. Thank you to all who took part and to Mike for planning and organising it.
