In the middle of the buying and selling frenzy, six people who had enjoyed the Christmas walk along the Southbank on December 19th, organised by committee member, John Murray, showed some of their images and there was a lively and helpful discussion, with suggestions of alternative settings and/or post-processing. It was interesting to see the different images produced by varying styles, different cameras and lenses and alternative views of the same scenes - thanks to those members who participated.
Briefly, we touched on this being a good time to think about plans and resolutions for the year ahead, personally and for the society, in terms of photographic progress, with one suggestion being that more submissions to external competitions and exhibitions can help hone skills, maintain enthusiasm and raise profiles. In the short term, we need to be thinking about our entries for the Barbican Library Exhibition in March, food photography for the next internal competition and Capturing the Decisive Moment for the next round of the Photography News Club of the Year competition.
Happy New Year!
