COLCPS member, Debbie Smyth, has images on display in exhibitions organised by the Glasgow Gallery of Photography:
Out of the Frame at Rogart Street Campus 4-30 August;
World Photography Day at the Glasgow Riverside Campus 15-19 August;
Urban Landscapes at Rogart Street Campus 19-30 August.
More than 3400 photographs from 43 different countries were submitted in the fourth edition of the Minimalist Photography Awards.
Congratulations go to Nick Bowman, current Chair of COLCPS, who won an honourable mention in the Fine Art category for his image of the West Pier at Brighton.
Four members of COLCPS have photos on display at the exhibition at Lauderdale House 31 August - 26 September.
And one of these members, Brian Groves, has been awarded runner off in the Freedom Category.

All are welcome at the Private View 31 August 19:30-21:00 - no formal invite or ticket required. Hope to see some of you there!

Brian Groves, member of COLCPS, was shortlisted in the Freedom category of the Lauderdale House Photographic Competition 2022
With around 6,500 entries, the Monochrome Awards 2022 have just announced their winners.
Congratulations go to Debbie Smyth
whose image of the Chiesa Madre in Sicily's Nuova Gibellina received an honorary award in the Architecture category.
Nicholas Bowman, Chair of COLCPS, has been selected to appear in the Monochrome Exhibition at Glasgow Gallery of Photography, taking place 3-28 February 2023.

Our long-standing member, Jean Jameson, has had images published in the Tavistock Times.
Colin Page has been selected as winner of the People and the River Category.
Vincenzo Albano has been selected runner up in the Landscape Category.
Don't miss out on the opportunity to see Jools McLean's enticing images with cubist layers on display on Sizewell Beach from July 22nd until September 22nd.
Huge congratulations to Dan for being chosen for this annual RPS exhibition in Bristol. His is one of just 8o images selected from the international RPS community of members.

The work of three CoLCPS members, also members of LIP, will be on show in the Construction: Disclosure exhibition at Espacio Gallery in Bethnal Green from 23 to 28 January 2024.
Congratulations to Rob Wilkinson whose "Moment of Calm" has won the “Directors’ Choice” award in photoSCHWEIZ 24. The image will will be displayed in Zurich from 12 to 16 January 2024

In December 2023 Rob was recognised by The Chromatic Awards, achieving Honourable Mention with his image "High Flyer at the Quay Club".


He also achieved “Commended Merit” from the Society for International Wildlife and Nature Photographers (SINWP) for a picture of a gull on the Thames foreshore.
The finalists' images are in the last stage of judging and results will be announced in mid-January 2024.

Fingers crossed!
Nick has been awarded three honourable mentions in the Monochrome Awards, with Birds in flight, On the line between light and dark, and Twin Peaks in Ohio.
The JLP Edition of Chris's much acclaimed Identity project celebrates diversity within the John Lewis Partnership
Rob's "London calling" image was shortlisted in the British Wildlife Photography Awards 2024. This places it in the top 2% of images in the competition.

Colin Page's "New York Shadow" is on display at Black Box Gallery in Portland, Oregon during March 2025.
Secret 7”, the much-loved charity initiative combining music and art, is back at Greenwich Peninsula's Now Gallery this April, presented by War Child for the second consecutive year. The exhibition brings together world-class musicians, visionary artists, and passionate collectors. All proceeds go towards War Child’s vital work supporting children impacted by conflict.
One of Debbie Smyth's images from her recent trip to Georgia has been selected for the International Photography Exhibition of Nature at Glasgow Gallery of Photography. The exhibition will be open 10 May - 20 June 2025.
"Crying Won't Help You, Praying Won't Do You No Good" is a photobook full of evidence of the environmental crisis in southeast England, Chris's backyard.
His images show that the effects of the crisis can be seen anywhere; It's not necessary to travel to the Amazon or the Pacific plastic islands to see the damage.

Debbie Smyth was joint winner of the Garlic Parr Award 2025 at the Sicily Photo Masterclass run by Mimi Mollica.
The long-awaited Alys Tomlinson film Mother Vera will be showing in UK cinemas from 29 August.
Several years ago, Alys talked to us at COLCPS about her work on pilgrimage sites, including Lourdes and her filming of Mother Vera.
Several COLCPS members are exhibiting at 36th Lauderdale House Photographic Exhibition starting 20 August.
Colin Page's V Light image has been chosen for the Black Box Gallery's Shadow & Light exhibition this August.
Debbie's first solo exhibition opens at the Upper Gallery at Lauderdale House on 20 August. It features current and recent projects, set in Tokyo, Berlin and Georgia, plus striking architecture and horses in a hurry.
Colin Page was runner up in the Light and Shade Category and Debbie Smyth was runner up in the Open Category of the Lauderdale Photo Competition 2025
Michael Ciaincia's Putting out the Blaze has been selected in the Documentary section; Colin Page's Summer Silhouettes has been selected in the Street category; and Debbie Smyth's Copper Twirl has been selected in the Architecture category.
The final results will be announced on 3 November 2025.
A community-driven exhibition exploring what connects us is taking place at Printspace in Shoreditch on 18 December from 7-10pm.
Olive has a Nomination in the Portrait category.
Colin has a Nomination in the Architectural category and Honourable Mention in the Silhouette category.

Cripplegate Photographic Society was founded on 17th January 1899. Ten years later the name was changed to City of London and Cripplegate Photographic Society. We will celebrate our 120th anniversary at the meeting on 15th October 2019. Click to read more.
